The next project I did was a pair of baby booties for my newest niece who was born in June. These two projects were the only ones I had attempted without my mother-in-law's help and I already told you how the first one turned out! The booties turned out better but they were a BIG challenge for me. I was pretty proud of myself when I finished though because I didn't think I was going to be able to make them look anything like booties at all! But here they are, I think they are pretty darn cute! (Hopefully they fit little Anestynn OK!)
Most recently (as in I finished it yesterday) I made a maternity/nursing dress. I was pretty scared about how this would turn out since the first two projects were so difficult for me. But I had my mother-in-law by my side for most of this one so she helped me figure out some of the instructions and she's great a ripping seams so she took out some stitches for me when I messed up. :) When I was almost ready to put it all together I tried it on to see how it was coming together. This is when I realized that if I finished it the way it was then it would be WAY too short. I panicked a little bit but my mother-in-law helped me figure out how to add a little bit of fabric to the bottom in a way that would look good and add the extra length I needed to make it modest. When all was said and done I could BELIEVE how great it looked! I had actually made the dress without hardly any hiccups or problems along the way, and I finished it in 3 days! I am pretty proud of myself and pretty eager to see what else I can do with my sewing machine. I love my hobby and I am glad my mom gave me a start in what I know about sewing. So without further ado here is my awesome handmade dress!
