Ish

I know I've been blogging a lot, I'm kind of addicted :) So here is a quick post about a funny little book I found at the library the other day for Regan. I don't make it to the library often, but I had to go the other day to try and print something (which they couldn't even print) and decided that rather than waste a trip I would get a book I've been wanting to read (The Time Traveler's Wife) and grab one for Regan too. I went to the Dr. Seuss section but we already had all of the DS books that were there so I grabbed something random nearby. I was pleasantly surprised when I got home and read the book to Regan that it was actually really cute. I am pretty sure I have enjoyed it more than Regan. It is called "Ish." It's about a little boy who loves to draw. One day his brother makes fun of him so he gets upset and starts drawing the same thing over and over to make it look "right." Finally he gives up. Then he noticed his little sister stealing one of his crumpled drawings. He chases her to her room only to find that she has been collecting his drawings and putting them all over her walls. She points out her favorite one, which is suppose to be a vase of flowers. The boy says it doesn't look like a vase but she says it looks "vase-ish." So then he gets obsessed with drawing "ish" things. It's really cute and funny. The pictures all look like they are drawn by a little kid with squiggly lines and the colors sometimes seeping out of the lines. Tonight I showed it Matt and after he finished reading it he said "want to make out-ish?" Haha! I am so glad I married someone who can make me laugh. And I am glad I found a gem at the library, I will have to try and go there more often.
