Look What I Made!!
So I have really been trying to get in touch with my crafty side lately since Pinterest taunts me daily with endless adorable ideas and I just got a new sewing machine (which is a DREAM). As you can probably imagine it is a little hard to find the time with a husband in school full-time and two crazy cute little girls to take care of. But, today they miraculously slept for a whole hour at the same time so I was able to work on some hair clips I have been dying to try. At first I just made some bows using a tutorial I found. But then I came across a really cute little heart clip for sale on Zulily.com and thought "wow that looks really easy to just make myself," and guess what? It was really easy to make! I was so excited and also could not believe that someone would pay so much for something they could make themselves in 10 minutes. Despite the fact that it was so easy to make, I am still really proud of myself which is why I am sharing it here! I would be cool and post a tutorial but I didn't take any pictures of the steps because I was experimenting and didn't expect it to turn out so cute. But I was able to figure it out looking at one picture so I am sure you could do the same.
Something else I am currently working on is making my own cloth diapers. Most people think cloth diapering is for crazies so I am sure I sound even crazier saying I want to cloth diaper AND make them myself. But like most DIY projects, it isn't as difficult as it looks. Well, OK, I'll be honest, it is a little hard and really time-consuming but I am hoping that the more diapers I make the better and faster I will get. So far I have made two, one that we just use as training pants for Regan (who is doing AWESOME with potty training BTW) and the other one doesn't fit Alexis at all. So I am going to have to tweak the pattern a bit to get the right fit. But again, time is hard to come by around here so I am sure by the time I make enough diapers Alexis will be potty trained already. Oh well, such is the life of a mommy :)
