Maternity Clothes

So one thing I love and also hate about pregnancy is maternity clothes. I love them because they are so cute, usually very comfy, and I like to show off my baby bump and maternity tops usually do a great job of showing it off. However, they are VERY pricey most of the time. My last pregnancy I got lucky because my sister had a huge stash she wasn't using that she let me borrow, so I only had to buy a few things and I had a great Gap discount when I did. But this time my sis is preggo at the same time so of course she is using her stuff so I need to build my own stash. I have bought a few things on sale at Target that are really cute. But what I really want to do is try sewing my own maternity clothes. I have my own sewing machine and my mother-in-law is a wonderful seamstress and is always willing to help me with my projects. I found a book on Amazon that has some maternity patterns as well as some cute baby things to sew as well (Matt is going to get it for me for mother's day).
I am really excited to get this book and make some of the cute things in it that will be tailored to my body and my style for (hopefully) a better price than I can get in stores.

The other great resource I found is the DIYMaternity blog. It is a blog by a girl who sells maternity patterns on Etsy. She also has a lot of great tutorials for sewing your own maternity clothes on her blog from herself and guest bloggers. Right now she just came out with a new pattern and is doing a giveaway! I really want to win and I get an extra entry for blogging about it! If you want to enter to just go to her blog, DIYMaternity.com. I can't wait to start trying some of her projects as well as the ones in the book I am going to get soon. I love sewing and I am really excited to see how these maternity clothes turn out!
I also took my first belly picture this week! I am 14 weeks and 4 days (I hit a new week every Thursday). I am just barely starting to show which is exciting for me because it took forever when I was pregnant with Regan and like I said, I like to rock my baby bump so I am always anxious for it to show up! Plus it helps make the pregnancy feel more real. Anyway, enough blab, here is the picture!

You look great mama!! I also hate how pricey they are! Can't wait to see what you make from this book!

I answered your boutique shopping question. Through the model listing sites, she gets to keep the clothes for free, most of the stuff she models I buy, but then I also get some people who write me to send me stuff for her to model too, so it's a mizture :)
